Tuning in to team spirit...

Singing is a fresh, creative and enjoyable way to inspire creativity in the workplace. It uplifts, motivates and builds confidence. It’s a fun, enjoyable team building activity that brings out the best in people and encourages an harmonious, effective and happy team.

How it works...

First we do some simple body warm-ups and vocal warm-ups which are also a bit of fun and therefore relax inhibition and create a positive atmosphere. Then we stand in a circle (or similar). I introduce each song and sing the melody. Everyone (the overall team) listens and when they've got it join in. Then I teach the harmonies likewise until all parts are learnt. Then everyone chooses a part they want to do and we split into smaller groups. I remind each group of their part as I bring the parts in one-by-one until all are sung together. I ask each group to work together and support each other with their part. Everyone listens to each other and the overall sound whist maintaining their individual part. Working together as a team, we bring the songs to life and in the process bring our creativity to life. All sing, have fun, lose inhibition, listen, learn, grow in confidence – expressing their individual voice within the voice of their group, whilst the groups collectively create a harmonious and effective whole team.
